Alex and Nick

My nephew Alex is visiting for a couple of weeks. He and Nick have become buddies. Here they are, lounging and watching Go, Diego, Go!
I'm the coolest kid on the block! I've turned in my Radio Flyer for a Harley!

Counting My Pennies

Peek A Boo!

Running!

Nick is starting to pick up speed! He often gets ahead of himself and ends up falling on his face, but he just gets up and keeps going!

Don't Mess With Me!

Doing a Jig

Here are my nephews, Joe and Josh, dancing at Josh's wedding. Looks like Nick is trying to pick up a couple of their steps!

Pulling My Giraffe Toy

Nicholas likes to walk in circles pulling things around. Especially his giraffe, or the bottom half of it, anyway.

Our Little Climber

Nicholas climbs on anything he can reach to pull himself up on. He's become a real little monkey. He especially enjoys crawling up on the armchair so he can look out the window. He's also lately taken to making an "O" with his mouth. We're not sure why, but its cute.

Walking!

Last night Nicholas decided he'd like to start walking! He just all of a sudden starting walking all over the living room. Shortly after that, he practically starting running. He has taken a step or two here and there, but now its the real thing! I never thought he'd walk before he got teeth!

My new great nephew

My nephew Joe and his wife Jaime are in the Ukraine right now going through the process of adopting an 11 year old boy named Vacya. They have been there since March 29th and probably won't get to come home with him til the end of May. We are wishing them the best and sending good thoughts their way. If you'd like to read about their adoption process, you can visit their blog at www.wageradoption.blogspot.com They can use all the encouragement they can get, so feel free to post a comment for them to cheer them along. I'm so proud of them!

Seven Years of Wedded Bliss!

Tim scored big with a special 7th anniversary dinner out at the new MGM Grand Wolfgang Puck Grille. Not only was it the best food I've had since before our little bundle of joy came along, (we used to dine out at swanky places a lot, but now we're more a part of the chicken finger and fries crowd). I'm a big time foodie, so it was a real treat. I got the roasted beet and goat cheese Napoleon with hazelnut vinagrette and the Colorado lambchops with crispy fries and blue cheese hollandaise. YUM! And they even threw in free dessert for us both in honor of the occasion. Tim's Banana Bonafee is shown here. Tim bought me a Wolfgang Puck book and brought it with him, and Wolfgang was actually in town! We didn't get to meet him in person, but our server got my book signed by him. You can see him in the picture below. He is the chef in the background cooking on the line. What a fun night!

Peekablocks

Aunt Janet, Uncle Charlie and cousin Owen visited last weekend and brought Nick a bunch of new toys that Owen has outgrown. He really likes the Peekablocks!

Giggle Beans

Nick went to Giggle Beans to celebrate his birthday. He got to play with all sorts of wonderful stuff. He loved the train that went around the track all by itself.
He liked the car table. He loved the pizza, especially the cheese!
He got some presents, too! He was very interested in the Backyardigan wrapping paper!
But Nicholas himself was the best present of all!!

Economizing

Due to the downturn in the economy, Tim and I have been looking for creative and affordable ways to provide playthings for Nick. As it turns out, all you need to entertain a 1 year old for hours is an empty Cheez-It box!
