I Just Think He's Adorable

My Baby Likes to Climb

Nick continues to scale anything he can get his little legs on. Fun for mom!

Everybody's Crazy 'Bout a Sharp-Dressed Baby

A couple of weeks ago, Nick and I were shopping at the Home Depot in Lake Orion for some flush-mount ceiling light fixtures. Who should we run into in the check-out lane but Billy Gibbons, the famous guitarist from ZZ-Top. You may be asking yourself, as was I, "What is Billy Gibbons doing in the Lake Orion Home Depot?" Turns out, he was shopping for stuff, (according to the check-out guy, he needed to fix some camera stands). He was putting on a concert at DTE Energy that night. Anyway, I approached him and asked if I could take his picture with Nick, and he was kind enough to oblige. Thank goodness for camera phones! He even bought Nick a little toy car flashlight from the checkout lane. As you can imagine, my music lover husband was rather excited about the whole thing and was sending phone pictures of him to everyone he knew. I finally figured out how to move pictures from my phone to my computer, so I thought I'd share Nick's earliest brush with fame. I think the looks on Nick's face are hysterical. It's like he was thinking, "Who are you and why are you touching my cart, you strange looking, Santa Claus look-alike?" You never know who you're gonna run into, huh? It's a good case for showering and putting on make-up before you run out the door....

Nick Loves Dora

Nicholas loves Dora the Explorer. She is his not-so-secret crush. Dora is his favorite book, and he also likes his Dora Crazy 8's and Go Fish Card Set.

Tub Crayons and Duck Show Down

Nick finally uses his tub crayons for their intended purpose instead of eating them. He also is using the big boy tub now instead of his blow-up duck tub.
He sure told that duck who was boss!

High School Chums

I got to visit with some high school friends, most of whom I haven't seen in 18 years! (Wow - that dates me a little bit, huh?) From left to right: Dawn, Melissa, Trisha, Lori, Me, Pam, and Christa. We had fun catching up, but I could've talked for hours more with them. They all have become lovely women!

New Cousin

My cousin Carrie has a new baby girl, Onalee. She is so sweet! I'm not so sure that Nick was all that jazzed about sharing me with her, though.
Nicholas got to know my cousin Sharon, who played cars and read books with him. She also made us a fantastic turkey dinner - Thanksgiving in August! Yum!

Sprinkler Fun

Whoa! It's COLD!

She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not...

Nicholas likes plants. He has often seen me dead-head my petunias, so he likes to do it, too. The problem is, he tends to "live-head" the flowers. Here he is, pulling all the petals off a pink gerber daisy, one at a time. What fun!

Play Ball!

Musical Instruments

Nicholas loves to make music. He has a bunch of musical toys that he uses to make dinner music for us. He really likes the xylophone, and as you can see, he uses his Tonka truck as a step stool.

At The Zoo

BIG SNAKE!
The Bear Fountain is the centerpiece of the Detroit Zoo. I think Nick wanted to dive in and go swimming. Although, it was unseasonably cool for August, at about 60 degrees, with wind and rain. Brrr!
Nick didn't seem too sure about the monkeys. He actually seemed a little afraid of them.
He loved the seals because they came right up to the glass, almost like you could touch them, and they were so big!

I Can Do It By Myself!

Nick learned how to go up and down his slide all by himself! Once He figured it out, he did it over and over again.

In Hot Water

Nick has toy pots and pans, but do you think he wants to play with those?! Well, sometimes he does, but more often than not, he gets into my cupboard and pulls out the real thing. This time he decided to stand inside my saucepan. What a little stinker!
