Vacation

We joined the Hirschfield family at Fountain Point Resort at Lake Leelanau again this year. Teddy and TJ are shown here with Nick in front of their cottage.
Lake Leelanau is absolutely beautiful and a great place to relax and enjoy nature.

I think Nick ate a whole watermelon while we were there. He just kept digging in and helping himself!
He's so darn cute!

Ditto that!

Pirate Ship Playground

There was a really cool pirate ship play structure at Fountain Point that all the kids loved climbing on. Nick's personal favorite was the slide.

Tim and Nick had a great time together. Don't you wish you had a pirate ship when you were a kid?!

Porthole Pics

Devilish grin...
Peek-a-boo, I see you!
Does this pose look familiar?

Petting Zoo at Black Star Farms

Black Star Farms Winery had a Petting zoo with rescued animals. Nick got up close and personal with the chickens.
Nick didn't seem to be scared of any of the animals. He walked right up to this adorable little baby pony. He was very soft and gentle and seemed to love the attention we gave him.
Our friends, Greg and Tracy, and their two little girls, Parker and Camryn, visited us while we were at Fountain Point. They live in Lake Ann, which isn't too far from there.

The Beach

Nicholas got to spend a lot of time playing at the beach.
Daddy had an awful lot of fun playing with Nick, too.
He especially enjoyed the sand. Knocking over sand towers was great fun!
He also thought it was cool how the waves would come up over his feet and then wash away. He would anticipate them and then say, "Oooh!"
The water front at Lake Leelanau is just beautiful. Plenty of space to boat, fish, sunbath, play, etc!

Oven Mitts

Nicholas enjoys emptying my cupboards and running around the house with their contents. On this particular day, he found some oven mitts and entertained himself with them for a while.

Books

Books are still one of Nick's favorite things.

Car Wash

Nick helped Daddy wash the car. He had to run fast to not get hosed!
Dad - I think you missed a spot...
I'm all wet!

Holy Cow! Did You See That?!

Earning My Keep

Nicholas loves to help sort laundry. He takes all his clothes out of the basket and then puts them all back in, one at a time. We figure it can't hurt to get him started on household tasks early - after all, he needs to earn his keep!

Helping Daddy

When we got home from Stanton, Tim went outside to clean up all the downed branches and leaves from the recent storms we've been having. Nick decided ot help out. Nick thought the leaves and sticks were very interesting.
But mostly he just wanted to run around. He loves being outside and when he is, he just takes off. It tires me out!

Visit to Grandpa's House

We drove to Stanton over the weekend and spent the night at my dad's house. Nicholas got to play with uncle Hazen - they seemed to hit it off. Hazen taught Nick how to shake his head "no." Thanks, Hazen!
Nick checked out Grandpa Wager's boat. He seemed to like it at first.
Grandpa, Nick and Daddy posed so nicely. It was a beautiful sunny day.
But it all went south after they put on the life jackets and left the dock. Nick didn't like the boat ride at all!

Go Tigers!

The Tigers put me to sleep, too.

Escape Artist

My sister Joanne and her family visited us for a couple of days. We tried to get a nice picture of all the cousins together, but someone wouldn't cooperate. Remember those days when Nick would just sit there and smile for the camera? Well, those days are gone. From left to right, Alex, Lizzie, Elaina, Emily, and Nicholas.

Hair

In case you ever wondered, this is what hair looks like if you run your fingers through it after eating spaghetti. It's like eating dinner and getting free hair gel at the same time!

Sleeping Boys

Nicholas and Alexander had fun together, but they were very tuckered by the end of the day. Look at these peaceful little cuties taking a snooze!
